Rome By Night - Around Rome Tours

When in ...

Everyone books their day tours through the major areas of Rome, such as the Vatican and the Colosseum which are the most famous attractions of the city. But they forget about the sights in the night and don't realize there is more to do than just eating at the best Italian restaurants or drinking Italian wine at a wine bar. When you search for the best things to do in Rome at night, don't look at just the best restaurants and wine bars but also keep in mind the sights of the Eternal City.

The fountains you may see during the day become a wonderous new sight after the sun goes down and the city lights illuminate each fountain and monument. Whether you eat dinner early or late, be sure to fit in a walk or even a tour through the city centre in the evening.

There are great Rome by Night tours to choose from led by knowledgable guides with perfectly planned routes and scripts full of information to share with you at each stop.

What to See

Make sure you know what monuments are the best to see at night or look for the ones you specifically want to see when you choose a Rome by Night tour.

Some of the best after dark sights usually done in one tour are:

Piazza della Repubblica, Pantheon, Piazza Barberini, Fontana di Trevi,                Piazza di Spagna and Piazza Navona to name a few.

See as Much as You Can

These photos give you just a glimpse of the awe and wonder you will feel when you see these places first hand. Walking through the centre of Rome at night is a must do because, let's face it, you will be staying at least a night or two and you don't want to waste any of your limited travel time in bed.

Other good tours will do alternative routes to places such as the Colosseum, Piazza Venezia with the monument of Vittorio Emmanuele II, the Forum Romanum and even over to St. Peters Basilica Square (Piazza San Pietro) and Castel Sant’Angelo.

Make sure you know what you want to see the most and pick the tour that is best for you. Also make sure the route is not too long as you may have been walking around Rome all day and having a nice, relaxing stroll at night is important to keep your energy balanced for the rest of your days in the Eternal City.

If there are no tours that suit what you want then grab your city map and create your own. The city is not so big and you can always ask the reception at the place you are staying for their suggestions on routes for walking. They usually know the city well and can give you some good tips for the length of walk you are looking for.
